Step-By-Step Instructions for Replacing Staples in Sharp Copier

There are 3 types of finishers that we will cover. Internal, external, and saddle-stitch finishers. The process for each is slightly different, but the technique for swapping the cartridge is the same.

Replacing Staples on Sharp Internal Finisher

1. Press and hold the manual staple button on the finisher unit
2. Open the front cover of the finisher
3. Lift up on the green tab to eject the staple cartridge housing
4. Pinch the clear plastic on the upward facing arrows to remove the empty cartridge and discard. NOTE: DO NOT DISCARD THE CHASSIS WITH THE GREEN TAB
5. Insert the full cartridge at an angle to seat the rear end into the chassis then click the front into place
6. Insert the housing with the full cartridge back into the finisher until it clicks.
7. Close the front cover of the finisher
8. Test a staple job by either copying or printing with staples selected

Replacing Staples on Sharp External Finisher

1. Open the finisher cover
2. Pull out the staple unit by the green tab
3. Remove the staple case by pulling the green tab
4. Pinch the clear plastic on the upward facing arrows to remove the empty cartridge and discard. NOTE: DO NOT DISCARD THE CHASSIS WITH THE GREEN TAB
5. Insert the full cartridge at an angle to seat the rear end into the chassis then click the front into place
6. Insert the housing with the full cartridge back into the finisher until it clicks.
7. Close the finisher front cover
8. Test a staple Jon by either copying or printing with staples selected

Replacing Staples on Sharp Saddle-Stitch Finisher

1. Open the finisher front cover
2. Pull out the staples unit on the sliding rails
3. Remove the staple case from the bottom side of the component that was slid out
4. Pinch the clear plastic on the upward facing arrows to open the spring-loaded area, then remove the empty white box from the rear of the chassis. NOTE: DO NOT DISCARD THE CHASSIS WITH THE GREEN TAB
5. IMPORTANT: DO NOT REMOVE THE TAB FROM THE REPLACEMENT STAPLES UNTIL IT IS INSERTED: Insert the full cartridge at the rear end into the chassis until it clicks into place.
6. Press the spring loaded housing down until it locks into place, then pull the tab.
7. Insert the housing with the full cartridge back into the finisher until it clicks.
8. Push the staple unit back in
9. Close the finisher front cover
10. Test a staple job by either copying or printing with staples selected
